McKinley School Fundraiser

It's time for our school fun kick off assembly for our fundraiser. This year we are selling $1 chocolates from the World's Finest Chocolate. Our goal is to earn $8000 to help cover PBIS (positive behavior intervention systems), field trips/bussing, recess/playground needs, clubs, activities for  students and staff, classroom supplies/ furniture, anything to help our school function, and keeping a positive climate and culture,  academic success of our students, increased learning opportunities, recognition of successes, and so much more. Ideally we use a minimum of $3500 each year on a thin budget to cover these things, $8000 would open so many more support / opportunities for our students and staff!! The key to this being successful is #1 the PRIZES- we will have some amazing prizes for the students (families) and the staff that sell the most chocolates, #2 send chocolates with your spouses/ family members to their workplace, reach out of our community, and in our community. We don't want kids going door to door unless with adult supervision. Safety is a priority here!! #3 Have fun with a positive Attitude!! :))

We appreciate your support and efforts, and remember to have fun with this :)

Our Kick off Assembly and permission slips will go home on January 31st. Student with permission slips turned in Monday Feb. 3rd can start taking chocolate home to sell. When you turn in the $60 for the chocolates after you sell them, you can get another box, with another permission form turned in and just keep going!! :)) This will run Feb. 3rd - Feb. 17th!!! We will have a final assembly to award prizes on (TBD) where families are invited to celebrate with the students too!!

Thank you for your support and have fun selling yummy chocolates just in time for Valentines day!!!

This is the info that will be sent home on Friday, January 31st or you can click HERE to open and print it.

5th Grade Perfect Attendance Bike Rules

Announcement from a great Community Sponsor: Crump-Reese Motors would like to continue to give bikes away to 5th Graders with Perfect Attendance this year. We want to let our 5th grade students know the requirements to qualify for these bikes so all students, parents, and faculty from every school are aware and on the same page.
Perfect attendance is being to school more than half of the day 100% of the days. They can have ONE tardy or ONE half day early check out but if more than one they don't qualify. Perfect attendance does not mean showing up for role call and leaving and tardy is coming more than 15 minutes after school starts. This is a hard thing to do and we want all students at all schools to have the same chance to earn a bike.
Thank you Crump Reese Motors for sponsoring this for our students.
**From Mrs. Arehart- Parents please know your child's health and well being come first, please help your children not put extra pressures on themselves to come to school when they do not feel good, or if they have an extra curricular opportunity. When these times happen, they may need to miss school and it is what it is. This reward is honoring those students that just happen to have it work, that they did have a perfect attendance year.
